Brush Fire North Of Santa Clarita Quickly Extinguished
A brush fire just north of Santa Clarita was quickly extinguished Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
Around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, emergency responders received reports of a fire on Cleat Road and Agua Dulce Canyon Road in Agua Dulce, according to Henry Narvaez, a dispatch supervisor with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“It was first reported as a house fire,” Narvaez said. “Our first responders that arrived on-scene found a fire in a field nearby. No structures were threatened.”
As of 3:50 p.m. the fire had burned a 50 by 50 foot area, according to Fire officials.

“Firefighters today are on the line working very hard to improve those containment numbers,” said Sean Ferguson, LACoFD Public Information Officer on Thursday. “However they are battling high temperatures, low relative humidity and at times dusty conditions.”

Due to accurate infrared mapping flights conducted along the fire’s perimeter, the fire size had been downgraded from an earlier estimate to 640 acres as of Thursday morning, according to Fire officials.
“The day was going normally and then almost instantly, it was chaos,” Smith said. “It first seemed like it was far away, but we soon realized it was very close and travelling at us very quickly. At one point we could see flames on the hills right next to our house.”
Small Santa Clarita Brush Fire Threatening Homes Quickly Extinguished
A small Santa Clarita brush fire was extinguished Thursday evening after briefly threatening structures, officials said.
Around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, emergency responders received reports of a brush fire near Millhouse Drive and Newhall Ranch Road, near the Santa Clara River in Santa Clarita, said Imy McBride, a dispatch supervisor with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“It was a 20 by 50 spot of brush on fire,” McBride said. “They were able to catch it quickly.”
The fire briefly threatened structures, however crews were able to prevent homes from being damaged. No injuries were reported.
