Bill Macfadyen: Horrifying Crashes Exact a Heartbreaking Toll for One Sunday

| 8:30 a.m. For more than a year, Noozhawk’s professional journalists have been working nearly 24/7 to ensure you’re getting up-to-the-minute, thoroughly reported, trustworthy news and information about COVID-19, the twin public health and economic crises, and so many of the myriad issues that have accompanied the pandemic. Our coronavirus coverage has had a tangible impact on our community as we’ve helped you navigate this bewildering environment. We’ve pressed elected leaders for more transparency and accountability, successfully convinced public health officials to be more consistent with their reporting and more forthcoming about victim demographics, have sought out experts and analysts who can explain the science and solutions, and have meticulously tracked Santa Barbara County’s statistics.

One assumes that other communities have resisted this co-option. Why are we not?
