Authorities have released the names of two young men killed in separate vehicle crashes Sunday in Santa Barbara County.
Jonathan Garcia-Bogarin, 23, of Goleta, was fatally injured when his 2021 Jeep Gladiator overturned while he was driving off road near West Camino Cielo, along the ridge of the Santa Ynez Mountains, according to Raquel Zick, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s Coroner’s Bureau.
The crash occurred just after 12:30 p.m. about 4 miles west of the Winchester Canyon Gun Club, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Garcia-Bogarin, who was partially ejected and was pinned by the pickup’s wreckage, suffered major trauma and was declared dead at the scene by Santa Barbara County firefighters.
