The present Manipur conflict, unrest, demands for separate administration and statehood will be resolved only when the BJP is not in power, former minister Nimaichand Luwang said.
IMPHAL The Janata Dal(United) Manipur unit on Saturday demanded a special state assembly session to discuss the present crisis in Manipur and make recommendations to the union government. During a press conference in Imphal, chief spokesperson and former minister Dr. Nimaichand Luwang of JD (U) state unit, said that both the BJP and its government in the state were silent on the present crisis in the state. “We demand a clear cut statement on the crisis and steps taken to resolve the crisis,” he said. Luwang added that no union minister has so far visited the state to enquire about the problems and issues faced by the people of Manipur. On behalf of the party’s state unit, he said they expect the 10 MLAs belonging to Chin-Kuki group to consider their demand for separate administration (in the state) in the interest of all communities of the state.
