In early February, herdsmen in Sanusi village, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, set the operational vehicle and the motorcycles of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Operation Amotekun, ablaze and thereafter ran away when the men of the corps visited the village following a distress call.
It was gathered that the distress call was about a fight that ensued between members of the vigilante group and some armed Fulani herdsmen, who allegedly destroyed the farmlands of farmers in the village. But unfortunately, a farmer and a member of the vigilante group lost their lives in the battle before the men of the Amotekun Corps arrived in the village. ....

A  farmer, Sunday Ahmed and two of his friends were working on Ahmed’s farms at Owobamigbe village in the Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State on January 21, 2020, when some herdsmen allegedly appeared with cattle to graze on the farm. But Sunday and his friends resisted them especially as they had just planted some crops.
A fight ensued and the armed herdsmen overpowered Ahmed and his friends. The two friends fled to inform members of the community but Ahmed was unable to escape and he was allegedly seriously inflicted with machete cuts by the herders. ....

Policing in Nigeria is about to receive a boost through the injection of N100 billion naira investment into Nigerian police force, NPF to improve its fledgling services.
And the gesture is not courtesy of government.
But it is out of the abundance of the heart and goodwill of members of CACOVID-an initiative driven by the private sector and initially aimed at helping in ameliorating the pains of COVID-19 pandemic on the vulnerable in the society.
The funding is a positive outcome of the #EndSars protests that degenerated into riots. And the revelation was made by the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele , (who is the leader of CACOVID) while giving account of the sum that was raised via donations from public spirited members of the bourgeoisie club and leading business conglomerates in Nigeria. ....
