Cape Town - Alleged underworld boss Nafiz Modack is a humanitarian who feeds thousands of people every day, and not a murderer or criminal, say his supporters, some of whom flew from as far as Pretoria to support him during his appearance in the Cape Town Magistrateâs Court on Friday.
Images of 100 litre pots of Akhni being given to hungry children were used on posters, asking: âIf Nafiz does not feed us, who will?â
Modack was whisked off to Pollsmoor Prison on Friday after his appearance alongside Jacques Cronje, Ricardo Morgan and Zane Kilian.

Criminal charges are racking up against alleged underworld figure Nafiz Modack, after he made an appearance in the Cape Town Magistrateâs Court on Monday.
Modack, who was arrested last week after a high-speed chase near Century City, is expected to appear again in the Bishop Lavis Magistrateâs Court on Tuesday morning with a police officer as a co-accused in a separate case, said National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila.
According to Hawks spokesperson Katlego Mogale, a 39-year-old police member attached to the tactical response team was arrested during the weekend on âsuspicion of proliferation of information to unsavoury characters operating in the Western Cape underworldâ.
