FSU Swim and Dive Hands Out Season Awards

Tallahassee, Fla.  – The Florida State swimming and diving teams handed out awards for the 2022-23 season on Saturday. “It was a great day to come together and celebrate our season,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “We’ve built an incredible team culture and I am very proud of our student-athletes and what they’ve achieved this season.” Yordan Yanchev, Edith Jernstedt were named the Most Valuable for swimming, while Samantha Vear and Tazman Abramowicz took home the honor for divers.   ....

Metzler Wraps Up Career, Huggins Contributes Personal Best

NCAA Championship Site  Knoxville, Tenn.  – The Florida State women’s swimming and diving team had four student-athletes competing on Friday at the 2023 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center. Anna Metzler closed out her career by finishing 19th in the 400 IM, improving her seed from 28th, touching at 4:10.35, which was just off her season best of 4:10.18. Edith Jernstedt finished third in the heat two of the 100 fly, touching at 52.73 for 38th overall. The swim was just off her season best (52.54). Jernstedt will compete in her specialty, the 200 fly on Saturday. Maddy Huggins swam her personal best in the 100 breast at 1:00.25, touching second in heat two for 38th overall. Huggins will compete in the 200 breast on Saturday along with Julia Mansson. “We had another great morning,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “Anna was so close to coming back in the 400 IM.
