AN incredible Barrow boy has had his long blonde locks cut in memory of his friend. Described by his mum as a kind little soul, soon to be seven-year-old Thomas Machell has cut his hair to raise money for The National Society of Epilepsy after his close friend sadly passed away in 2018. Thomas Machell, a pupil at Chetwynde School, started growing his hair at just four years old after seeing someone on TV having a sponsored haircut. This inspired him to set out his own mission of growing his hair and start a fundraiser. The youngster has raised more than £2,000 for the charity and will also donate his hair to the Little Princess Trust. ....
A SELFLESS year two pupil has grown out his luscious blonde locks in memory of a special friend who sadly passed away. Thomas Machell, 6, a pupil at Chetwynde Primary School in Barrow sadly lost his close friend in 2018, inspiring a fundraising campaign to raise money for The National Society for Epilepsy. The youngster is collecting donations as he prepares to have his hair cut off in June, when he will also donate his hair to the Little Princess Trust. Mum Salli Kidson, 30, a receptionist, said: He saw a charity hair cut on Children in Need and asked why they were cutting their hair off that little girl, so I told him they are donating the hair to children who have got cancer and things like that. He asked if a boy can do that, and decided at the age of four that he was going to grow his hair and eventually cut it off for charity. ....
