After nine months without a contract, the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers announced a “historic” contract for teachers at the same time MPS officials have stated that they will need to cut $110 million, and that “everything is on the table.”
The proposed cuts to Minneapolis and St. Paul public schools are set to eliminate hundreds of full-time positions across numerous departments, drastically reduce department budgets by up to 60 percent and impact afterschool programs.
