NEW DELHI: The new guidelines of the Maharashtra government to curb Covid-19 infections will force almost 90 per cent of restaurants to shut down and has spelled doom for the hospitality industry in the state, Hotel and Restaurant Association Western India (HRAWI) said on Tuesday.
Maharashtra is witnessing a spike in Covid-19 cases, forcing authorities to impose restrictions from April 5.
HRAWI also urged the state government to compensate employees engaged in the industry and their families for the loss of income, and also support hoteliers and restaurateurs by waiving all statutory fees, taxes and utility bills. ....

Hotels, restaurants in Mumbai to ring in the new year at 10.30pm to align with Thailand celebrations

Adapting to the new Covid-19 night curfew guidelines, Mumbai hotels and restaurants have decided that they will ring in 2021 an hour and half early at 10.30 PM.
The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI) has asked its members hotels and restaurants in the State to gear up for early celebrations on New Year’s Eve. With the State announcing a curfew post 11 pm, hotels and restaurants have decided to ring in the New Year Eve celebrations an hour and half early. The HRAWI has opined that ending the year earlier is a fitting tribute to Hospitality Industry s never say die attitude and welcome the New Year filled with hope and promise.
