Civic bodies in Steel City are gearing up to combat dengue this year after Jharkhand witnessed nearly 1,500 deaths and hospitals and blood banks witnessed intense platelet demands last year. The Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) will form an enforcement team to run a check in colonies and residential areas to scour for stagnant water that may pose a risk. Awareness drives and monitoring apart from cleaning activities shall begin across the city. Bihar businessman shot dead in Jamtara: Nanda Yadav, 35, was found shot dead by unidentified assailants in Shastri Nagar under the Mihijam police station limits of Jamtara. The deceased's family, originally from Bihar's Jamui district, had been residing in Mihijam for the past few years and was into a dairy business. The body was sent to the Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination. No suspects have been named by the family members.
