MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – (May 20, 2024) A Murfreesboro woman has been indicted on charges of murder and abuse following the death of her four-week-old son in April 2023.   Jalani Patton, 25, was indicted by a Rutherford County Grand Jury on felony first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse charges. The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue recently concluded an investigation that resulted in the conviction of Scharneitha Britton, the owner of Kinfolks BBQ in Smyrna.
