While an amended San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo will still go on, the carnival this year is officially canceled. Lauren Sides, a spokesperson for the rodeo, said rodeo officials decided to forgo the carnival “with regard to the health and safety of patrons, exhibitors, athletes and volunteers.” ....

2021 San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Tickets Go on Sale This Week Published: December 16, 2020 Ticket sales open Thursday for a reimagined 2021 San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. Executive director and CEO Cody Davenport says they’ll take the rodeo from the AT&T Center back to the Freeman Coliseum, where it was held prior to 2003, and create a retro-feeling event that focuses on the traditional rodeo events plus the livestock show, which already has attracted 17,500 entries from youth. The smaller venue allows for more safety during COVID-19 and only a limited number of seats will be available to allow for social distancing. “It’s going to be a heck of a memory,” Davenport said during a Facebook Live update on Dec. 16. ....
