If Governor Umahi was not flexing muscles with his former political allies, now turned enemies, one group or the other would be fighting the other, and nobody would be doing anything to checkmate them. After being a member of PDP where he rose to become the State Party Chairman, State Deputy Governor, and State Governor for the past five years, Dave Umahi suddenly realized that the PDP was an evil party, and decided to leave the party. ....
Punch Newspapers Sections Edward Nnachi, Abakaliki The Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested the Chairman of the Ohaukwu Local Government Area, Clement Odah, and the member representing Ohaukwu North State Constituency, Mr Chinedu Awo, in connection with the recent killings and destruction of property in Effium and Ezza Effium communities. This was just as residents told journalists that the death toll was now above 40. Although there was no official confirmation about the number of deaths, reliable sources in the communities told our correspondent on Sunday that the death toll had risen astronomically. A former Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Bernard Odoh, said in a statement that the death toll had risen to over 40, adding that he would challenge anybody or authority that says otherwise. ....

Kolawole said this when he led seven of his colleagues to solicit the support of their counterparts in Ebonyi State. He explained that the North-Central and South-East regions deserve to produce the next President and Vice President of Nigeria as they were the most marginalised since the return of democracy in 1999. Umahi, who stated this while briefing journalist at the end of a virtual Special Security Council meeting of South-East Governors’ Forum at Uburu, in the Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state, noted that the security challenges currently facing the state were politically-motivated and as such should be handled with caution and understanding. ....
Stop harassing people over 2023 vice-presidential promise, IPOB tells Umahi Tony Okafor, Awka The Indigenous People of Biafra has asked the Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, to stop intimidating citizens of the state because he has allegedly been promised the position of vice-presidential in 2023. This warning was contained in a statement signed by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, on Tuesday. The group alleged that the governor ordered the arrest of innocent locals that reportedly exposed the atrocities of terrorist herdsmen in Ebonyi communities. The statement read in part, “We the Indigenous People of Biafra wish to warn Gov Umahi against the grave implications of his actions. Declaring law abiding citizens wanted simply because they exposed and confronted foreign terrorists in Ebonyi State is worse than terrorism itself. ....
