Following the incessant crises between Bonta and Ukpute communities in Konshisha and Oju Local Government Areas of Benue State over land, the state government has directed that the access road linking the communities be opened.
In a communique issued at the end of the Special Security Council meeting held at the new banquet hall of the government house, Makurdi yesterday also called for regular security patrol on the road linking the communities.
The State Governor, Samuel Ortom who read the communique said that the meeting condemned the criminality among the youths of both communities and called for a cessation of hostilities as well as asking that erring members from the communities be disciplined and sanctioned. ....

EBONYI State Governor, David Umahi, on Tuesday expressed displeasure over the rising spate of insecurity in the state and said those causing security breaches, irrespective of their political affiliation, would be arrested and prosecuted according to the law of the land.
Umahi, who stated this while briefing journalist at the end of a virtual Special Security Council meeting of South-East Governors’ Forum at Uburu, in the Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state, noted that the security challenges currently facing the state were politically-motivated and as such should be handled with caution and understanding. ....
