Mumbai, Jan 1 (PTI) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday said that nearly 97.38 per cent of the Rs 2,000 bank notes have been returned to the banking system, and only about Rs 9,330 crore worth of the notes are still with the public.
It has been decided to extend the current arrangement for deposit/exchange of Rs 2000 banknotes until October 07, 2023, the RBI stated in a press statement as the time frame for the withdrawal process had come to an end.
