35th avenue has been robbed four times since november. The owners of the franchise have decided enough is enough. Reporter a few weeks ago when robbers used a pick up truck and cable to steal a safe from the taco bell at 35th and mcarthur. Of the four robberies two occurred while they were open for business. Kimberly works on the metro wireless store across the street. They pull up out of nowhere. They are not just robbing the store they rob everyone in there as well. It is not as safe as it used to be a. I lot of crime now. Reporter with that in mind, the owner of the franchise, diversified restaurant group, closed the dining rooms at all four of the taco bells in oakland including this one. That leaves a taco bell on telegraph, owned by another company as the only place people can eat indoors. And that restaurant has gone cashless to try to prevent robberies.
