The Arts Village Community and Family Event hopes to connect the wider community to the art groups and artists in town while celebrating the International Day of Families.
This event will be held tomorrow
, from 10am to 12.30pm.

Get ready to have inspiration ignited as eight speakers with different creative passions come together for ArtsMad.
ArtsMad is a visual presentation evening, where people from the wider arts community talk about what they do alongside a rolling show reel of images.
The presentations are fast-paced and engaging.
For the upcoming ArtsMad session, there will be eight speakers.

London-based Rietta Austin is a singer/songwriter, dancer/choreographer, vocal and performance coach, who returned to her hometown Rotorua last year.
Her career has taken her across the world, and has included being a vocal coach for X-Factor Britain s Got Talent contestants, and Universal Records. ....

$52,000 funding available for Rotorua arts initiatives

Additional funding has been added to the latest Rotorua District Creative Communities Scheme round, meaning more than $52,000 is available to support Rotorua arts initiatives.
With nearly double the normal amount offered, applications are being sought for this funding round which closes on March 6.
Rotorua Creative Communities Scheme administrator Julie Parsons hoped the additional support would allow a wide range of different arts activities to take place in Rotorua this year.
This is a real opportunity for creatives to make a difference in the lives of Rotorua people by helping them to participate in the arts, Parsons said. ....

There was plenty of smiles and talent shared at the presentation of Rotorua Civic Arts Trust scholarships, including the inaugural Dr Barry Smith Memorial Instrumental Scholarship.
On Tuesday afternoon the five Rotorua youth received their scholarships at the Rotorua Energy Charitable Trust office, and a number of them performed for those gathered at the presentation. ....
