3 arrested in Eastern UP drug bust

Chippewa County Sheriff s Office SAULT STE. MARIE, MI    The Tri-County Drug Enforcement Task Force has arrested three people for smuggling and selling narcotics in Chippewa County. Trident detectives have been investigating a group selling crystal meth and heroin in the region. Several controlled purchases of meth were made during the investigation. Detectives received information that members drove downstate to bring back more drugs. On Sunday they stopped and executed search warrants on two vehicles. Trident seized more than 100 grams of meth and a smaller amount of heroin. The people arrested and their charges are as follows: River McGrail, 19, of Sault Ste. Marie

US B-52 overflies Mideast as Biden sets policy tone AFP 1/27/2021 © Roslyn Ward A B-52H Stratofortress on a mission in the Middle East region A US B-52 bomber flew over the Middle East Wednesday in a show of force by President Joe Biden s new administration as it girds for a challenging relationship with Iran, the Pentagon said. The nuclear-capable B-52H Stratofortresss flew the round-trip mission from Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, accompanied at different times by US fighter jets and refuelling tankers, and, at one point, by Royal Saudi Arabian Air Force F-15 fighters. It was the third such mission this year, the first two carried out by the previous administration of Donald Trump to maintain a threat presence against Iran.
