Kings Beach, Mudjimba Beach, Main Beach and North Stradbroke Island were closed on Tuesday morning, with Surf Life Saving Queensland urging people to stay out of the water. The weather bureau predicted a 60 per cent chance of showers for the region on Wednesday, most likely during this morning and afternoon. Forecaster Rosa Hoff said there was a wider possibility of rain from Fraser Island down to the southern end of the Coast. We re forecasting between about 1-10mm of rain, some locations could see 15mm, she said. Isolated falls could bring rain totals of about 20mm, but Ms Hoff said it was much more likely offshore. ....
