Campus and state Health Officials first became concerned earlier this week when a member of the men s hockey team at st. Anselm reported to the Health Center with lowgrade fever and swollen salivary glands. Doctors tested the hockey team and found two other players have the monks mumps and three are showing symptoms. All of those cases are described as mild. While nearly all College Students are vaccinated for mumps the vaccine is only 88 effective, so it s still possible to get sick. While it s possible there will be additional cases, the academic calendar is helping to stymie the spread of the virus. Incubation is 25 days, so we are in that window. O
