The Rolling Hills Local Board of Education recently approved a lengthy list of contracts for employment for the 2021-2022 school year.

Rolling Hills schools to return to in-person instruction

BYESVILLE - An updated Covid-19 district plan was approved at a recent Rolling Hills Local Board of Education meeting.
On March 15, the school district will return to daily in-person classes. Currently, they operate on a hybrid model where they have remote learning on Mondays and in-person learning the remainder of the week. It will be live in-session learning, board president Dennis Dettra said of the March 15 date.

The Rolling Hills Local Board of Education met in special session Wednesday evening for the sole purpose to appoint a superintendent pro tempore.
Superintendent Scott Golec is on leave for medical reasons, as of today.
During the period of the superintendent s leave, the board of education appointed Randy Lucas to serve as superintendent pro tempore until the Golec s return from leave, or until the expiration of the superintendent s contract or term of office, whichever comes first.
Lucas, a native of Byesville and 1987 graduate of Meadowbrook High School, serves as the superintendent for the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center with offices in St. Clairsville and New Philadelphia.

The Rolling Hills Local Board of Education met Thursday and re-elected Dennis Dettra as the president of the board. It s a testimony to who you are, said board member Mike Humphrey about Dettra being re-elected president this year makes four years in a row as board president. (And) You re experienced, said board member Darren Singleton.
Meanwhile, Singleton was elected vice president.
Dettra asked if other board members could also conduct meetings this year so they can get experience on how to run a meeting. Treasurer Kandi Raach will look into it.
Dettra said he doesn t plan on being board president forever and wants others to know how to conduct the meeting.
