The Rolling Hills Local Board of Education met in special session Wednesday evening for the sole purpose to appoint a superintendent pro tempore.
Superintendent Scott Golec is on leave for medical reasons, as of today.
During the period of the superintendent's leave, the board of education appointed Randy Lucas to serve as superintendent pro tempore until the Golec's return from leave, or until the expiration of the superintendent's contract or term of office, whichever comes first.
Lucas, a native of Byesville and 1987 graduate of Meadowbrook High School, serves as the superintendent for the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center with offices in St. Clairsville and New Philadelphia.
