President
Biden is still waiting for bipartisanship to make a comeback. In the meantime, he’s been making calculated political appearances. That approach was on full display during a Tuesday interview with ABC News’
George
Stephanopoulos.
In response to a question about Americans’ refusing to get vaccinated, Biden delivered a rebuke that tacitly addressed outrage culture in general: “I just don’t understand this sort of macho thing about, ‘I’m not gonna get the vaccine. I have a right as an American, my freedom to not do it.’ Well, why don’t you be a patriot? Protect other people.” To bring the temperature down, he played the grandfather card, saying, “I can hug my grandkids now.”
