There are a number of important candidate choices that helped define recent Senate cycles. Gov. Chris Sununu’s (R-NH) decision as to whether he will challenge Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) could be the most important candidate choice of the 2022 cycle. While Republicans will target vulnerable Democrats in states that are more competitive at the presidential level than New Hampshire, they very well may struggle to produce a candidate in those states as proven as Sununu.

In response to a question about Americans’ refusing to get vaccinated, Biden delivered a rebuke that tacitly addressed outrage culture in general: “I just don’t understand this sort of macho thing about, ‘I’m not gonna get the vaccine. I have a right as an American, my freedom to not do it.’ Well, why don’t you be a patriot? Protect other people.” To bring the temperature down, he played the grandfather card, saying, “I can hug my grandkids now.” ....
