John Katko on Saturday survived the most serious challenge yet to his Republican support when Cayuga County GOP leaders decided not to censure the fourth-term congressman. The Cayuga County Republican Committee voted overwhelmingly against moving forward with a formal censure resolution that would have rebuked Katko for voting to impeach former president Donald Trump. Katko, R-Camillus, addressed the GOP group for about 15 minutes Saturday before the vote by secret ballot, said Cayuga County Clerk Sue Dwyer, one of the committee members who attended the meeting. ....
