Lee Zeldin to run for governor in 2022. The committee is the latest to endorse Zeldin, a conservative supporter of former President Donald J. Trump. Zeldin has taken a quick lead in the contest to be the Republican candidate challenging embattled Democrat Gov. Andrew M.
