SARATOGA SPRINGS – The Saratoga County Republican Committee has endorsed Long Island U.S. Rep. Lee Zeldin to run for governor in 2022.
The committee is the latest to endorse Zeldin, a conservative supporter of former President Donald J. Trump. Zeldin has taken a quick lead in the contest to be the Republican candidate challenging embattled Democrat Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo in 2022, should Cuomo seek re-election.
“Saratoga County has been hurt by the radical liberal policies coming out of Albany, and hard-working families up and down New York state have had enough,” said county Republican Chairman Carl Zeilman.  “New Yorkers have a phenomenal opportunity in November 2022 to help turn our state around by electing Lee Zeldin our next governor. On day one Lee will restore law and order, start rebuilding our economy and begin to save our state.”
