Her dissertation, americas first band of brothers, friendship and camaraderie within the Continental Army during the revolutionary era explores the reallife experiences of men who fought in the army by uncovering the significance of personal connections they developed throughout the conflict and their ability to sustain these ions into the years of the early republic. Her research has been supported by several institutions, including the Mcneil Center for early american studies at the university of pennsylvania, the Gibson Institute for 18th century studies, and the david library.
