into wildwood. so, we ll talk about what we can expect. the snow will arrive during the overnight hours from the southeast to northwest direction. the steadiest of that snow moves in from 9:00 a.m. to 3 o clock. highest totals south and east of philadelphia, slushy and slick roads is a big concern as we go throughout the rest of the day. we ve got more details coming up with the full and exclusive accuweather forecast. we ll send it back over you to brian. melissa thank you. let s switch live to chad pradelli live at the penndot salt yard in norristown. chad, our very first live shot of the season there. i guess that means there s getting ready tonight. reporter: yeah, brian, hopefully not many more but a press conference under way as we speak as penndot updates us on its operations for this storm. a little bit of a lull right now but in a few hours, when the flakes begin to fall, things will certainly pick up. inside the penndot operations center all eyes on the roads an
boundary from the east to the west. so, overnight tonight an additional quarter to a half inch of rain could spark again some minor street flooding as we get into the overnight hours. then temperatures will crash near dawn and there could be an icy mix with some freezing rain and sleet in the far northwestern suburbs but that doesn t occur until after 4 o clock in the morning. in fact there s a winter weather advisory. it starts at 1:00 a.m. but nothing should fall in wintry form until about 3, 4 o clock through 10 o clock on saturday morning for the poconos lehigh valley all the way down to lancaster. we ll show you the model how it s picking up some of that ice coming up in that accuweather forecast and a big change for the eagles game tomorrow it is going to feel like the teens sharrie. we ll chat about it in that accuweather forecast. all right our weather just all over the place. all over the place. get updates on the forecast and check storm tracker6 live througho
than an inch, doylestown .85, pottstown about a half inch. atlantic city you ll notice really hasn t gotten into the action quite yet, only .02 of an inch. an additional quarter to a half inch of rain again causing minor street flooding where you have the poor drainage then temperatures crashing as an arctic boundary moves in and this could cause an icy mix in the far north and west suburbs. you can see right now we re in the 60 s but temperatures in the 30 s behind it. we ve got winter weather advisories. i ll talk about that coming up in the full accuweather forecast. gina. [inaudible] traveling out right now i do have some good news. that earlier tractor-trailer that we had in langhorne on 95 has cleared. now we re just sort of waiting for this delay to really run its course but it looks like for the most part you re moving along, a little slower than you should be but the tractor-trailer is gone so things are going to be moving along a lot nicer now for you. let s als
rest of us is cause for concern for people who live along this stretch of the delaware river but many neighbors here tell us as long as the nearby canal doesn t flood, they feel relatively safe. you can get a pinch point up in yardley where the yardley inn is. floods there and down here and sort of creates an island so the last time it happened i think it was 06 i m not sure but we were mandatory evacuated. reporter: so far the canal has not flooded and flooding from the river has been relatively minor. the problem that has developed here is quite simply an ice jam and that forces the current to accumulate in isolated areas. so far the worst of it is here at the intersection of river road and ferry road in lower makefield and so local officials are urging commuters to avoid the area. at this time the river continues to be ice dammed along the calhoun street bridge zero the river is unpredictable. the water could still rise a little bit or even some ice flows could come
tuesday right through 6:00 a.m. on wednesday as we are tracking a period of light snow. you can see the area of low pressure out to the north out across the northern great lakes and that trailing cold front that will work its way eastward as we get into tuesday afternoon really tuesday night and throughout the day on wednesday. so we ll talk about what we can expect. it s cloudy for most of us on tuesday for the majority of the day but we ll tracking light snow fall in our far northwestern suburbs and lehigh valley as we get into tomorrow afternoon. the steadiest of that snowfall arrives 11:00 p.m. tomorrow night right through 7:00 a.m. on wednesday so it will be slow going for the morning commute as we get into the middle half of our work week. we ll talk more about that coming up with the full and exclusive accuweather forecast. be sure to wake up with the morning team for the updated track on this latest wintry blast. join matt tam meteorologist dave murphy and karen rog
