The hearing, which began with the prosecution's case Monday, will decide if the boy, who has not been officially identified, will be charged in the incident as an adult or as a juvenile.
The teen is scheduled to next appear for a three-day transfer hearing from June 10-12; a transfer hearing is held to determine if a juvenile defendant should face charges as an adult, after which an arraignment date can be scheduled.
