We begin with a 12hour rally in support of homeless rights and in honor of Martin Luther king junior. It is a right to rest rally happening now in San Francisco. Alyssa harrington is there live. Alyssa, you have been there for several hours and the group has been there since, what 5 00 this afternoon . Around 50 people have gathered and will booy spending the night be spending the night here. The bart station is one of the places police have cracked down on people sleeping in walkways. The demonstrators are here to protect their right to rest. On blankets and eating pizza and watching a civil rights documentary with signs that say housekeys, not handcuffs demonstrators gathered on the side of San Franciscos market street. Good morning. We begin with the deadly mix of rain and ice. That triggered hundreds of accidents on both coasts. Yesterdays ice storm is blamed for six deaths in the northeast and in the west. A 26car pileup. This is in oregon and ripping open a fedex truck and mangled a tractortrailer crunching this man between the two semis leaving him enough room to survive. The icing danger isnt over yet. Abc has the story. Reporter a winter mix of freezing rain and icy temperatures reeking havoc over the week end causing delays, hundreds of accidents and claiming at least five lives. In philadelphia three People Killed after more than 50 cars and trucks slammed into one another. Officials closed icy highways and bridges for four hours. Like a skating rink. On the highway. Reporter in new jersey hundreds of crashes happened faster than could be cleared. At least 60 people were hurt including this man. In new york conditions closed parts of major highways. But here is where it gets dicey from livermore, quarter mile. Three quarters mile in concord and all the way into the north bay. Once again, pea soup. Very very hard to see. With the low level moisture, the mild temperatures, upper 40s from san ramon and livermore 54. We will look for the tail end of this front to limb many on through the north bay.
