Pelham officials consider tightening regs for loose dogs on trails > Published: 8/2/2021 7:58:42 PM PELHAM Loose and unleashed dogs accosting people walking on hiking trails and in town conservation areas could prompt revisions to Pelham’s leash bylaw and spur efforts to have a full-time animal control officer. Following two recent townwide meetings on the topic, in which residents recounted experiences of being run at or jumped on by loose dogs, Conservation Commission Chairman Dana McDonald said draft recommendations for modifying the leash bylaw are likely to be brought to the Select Board that could be considered at a future Town Meeting. ....
Write-ins abound in Pelham town election FILE PHOTO FILE PHOTO PELHAM Three incumbents, including the town moderator, town auditor and a member of the Board of Assessors, received the most write-in votes at this week’s town election and can, if they choose, continue serving Pelham. There were no contested races in Tuesday’s election, which drew 93 of 1,033 registered voters, for a 9% turnout. Moderator Daniel Robb, with 31 write-in votes, can keep the position for another year, while John Trickey received three write-in votes to stay on for another year as auditor. In addition, Gwendolyn Huber got 11 votes to remain on the Board of Assessors for three more years. ....
