Nevada County Superior Court Judge candidates face off

Two veteran prosecutors are facing off Nov. 4 for the Nevada County Superior Court judge seat being vacated by retiring Judge Sean Dowling.
Nevada County Assistant District Attorney Anna Ferguson and supervisory federal prosecutor Rob Tice-Raskin were the two top vote-getters in a field of five candidates during the June primary.
Tice-Raskin, who had outspent Ferguson in the primary campaign more than two to one, led the field with 7,907 votes or 34.64 percent to Ferguson’s 7,000 votes or 30.66 percent.
Tice-Raskin said becoming a judge has been a lifelong dream, and noted that he planned all along for the campaign to be “a marathon.” ....

CATTPAC endorses Rob Tice-Raskin for Superior Court Judge of Nevada County

The Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe Political Action Committee has endorsed Rob Tice-Raskin for Superior Court Judge of Nevada County.
The association’s board was impressed with Tice-Raskin’s depth of experience as a civil litigator, according to a submitted press release.
“Tice-Raskin has a hardworking, fair-minded, non-political attitude that is kind and respectful of others and has strong support of his peers in the judicial field,” the release said.
CATTPAC has an involved interview process whereby all candidates for a particular office are asked similar questions by a panel of three CATTPAC representatives. Following the interviews, board members meet to discuss the pros and cons of each candidate and then decide whether to take a position or donate money to that candidate. A similar process is conducted for propositions, local ballot measures, etc. CATTPAC has a 79 percent successful track record endorsing both candidat ....
