Pembroke had been scheduled to play against Hillsboro-Deering, but the start of H-D’s season was delayed due to health concerns. MV stepped into the void to play against its Capital-area rival. PA and MV will play again on Jan. 25 and Jan. 28. Hillsboro-Deering is scheduled to open its season on Jan. 19 at Kearsarge. The Pride went up early behind senior Griffin Wheeler (17 points), but the Spartans used an 8-0 second quarter run to take a lead they would hold for the rest of the game.
