today. happening right now, the ntsb investigators are on the scene in ohio at oaf norfolk southern train wrecked in the state. the ntsb says no hazardous materials were released in that wreck after 28 train cars derailed in springfield on saturday. it prompted shelter in place orders for residents. it comes a month after the norfolk southern state crash in east palestine, ohio. crews are still working to remove that contaminated soil and liquid from the site. jason carroll is? springfield now. jason, what are you learning now about this latest crash in. reporter: the ntsb is planning to hold a briefing about two hours from now, abby, at 3:00. hopefully at that point we ll get more guidance, perhaps, in terms of exactly what happened here. we can tell you in terms of the latest derailment, it occurred on saturday about 3:00. there was a man there who caught it on his cell phone just as the training were tipping off. 28 trains out of 200 cards derailed, but again we are bein

positions in places here while you re seeing other movements back. this is that corridor we re talking about with the convoy three weeks ago. the question is are these folks actually moving back in what is known as a retrograde operation. essentially they leave troops to maintain the lines and they are retreating. are they going back to belarus, and resupplying and will they return to this front in a week or two. the russians have been in battle for a month or so. they need resupply. is this a bigger move to essentially go to the east. will we see these troops in kyiv be repositioned and later show up in the most consequential battle going on right now, which is in and around isium. this is donetsk in this region here. they essentially want to go from kharkiv, build their corridor, link with their forces from luhansk and if there s anywhere to watch, it s this area around
that s right. and i think what is key in all of this, if we rewound two weeks ago, this was all red, showing russian advances. tonight you are seeing the lighter blue, the counterattacks of the ukrainian military. what we asked last week, the russians were talking about moving out of kyiv and now they are actually doing it. here are the key places. bucha in and around here along with irpin, you ve seen ukrainians resecure some of these areas. and the russian withdrawal doing a retrograde operation, you essentially leave some russian forces to defend and protect those that are leaving. you have others that are moving back to the north here to the belarusian border. but even more shocking, you see russian troops and dead russians left behind. and in the east the ukrainian military is cutting off 24
