Close to the vest here. we ve been asking them all day long. they re not giving us any numbers. we ve been playing with the numbers a little bit. both leaders, jeffries and mccarthy, appear to be in very, very good spirits. so they both do feel like they re going to be able to avert this default tonight. speaker mccarthy will need democrats help with this. so far we ve been telling you all afternoon, there s several republicans nos. and that number has swollen now to 40 republican nos. they think the speaker gave up his leverage and agreed to a very bad deal. they say he doesn t go far enough to cut nondefense spending and places some dangerous caps on defense spending. for now though, it doesn t appear the speaker is very worried about these 40 folks that are trying to con convenience them. there is now another call, neil, for a motion to vacate. of course, we heard about this from dan bishop yesterday. now representative ken buck ....
