KP to Launch Scholarships for Madrassa Students
In a new and progressive development for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the provincial government has announced a new scholarship program for its madrassa students.
As per the official handout, the program is being designed with the same administrative objectives as the Rehmatul-lil-Alameen Scholarship program.
The decision to launch the new scholarship was made in a meeting of the Auqaf & Religious Affairs Department, with Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan in the chair. Addressing the attendees, the CM urged the concerned officials to prepare a launch as early as possible.

The attendees of the meeting addressed issues about the amendments to the KP Waqf Properties Ordinance (1979). In this regard, the CM directed them to present the amendments to the provincial Cabinet when completed. In his opinion, the government aims to improve the management of the Waqf properties with value-added efficiency in the long run.

A ceremony in this regard was held in Islamabad on Thursday. Chief ministers Mahmood Khan and Usman Buzdar attended the meeting through video link, says a statement issued here.
Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said that of 5,478 scholarships under the programme a total of 878 worth Rs340 million would be provided to students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in higher education sector while in elementary and secondary education sector 4,600 scholarships would be provided with the total cost of Rs230 million.

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2021 ) :Khyber PakhtunkhwaChief Minister Mahmood Khan on Thursday said that under the Rehmatul-lil-Alameen Scholarship programme, a total of 5,478 students would be provided scholarships in higher, elementary and secondary education sectors in the province.
He said 878 scholarships in higher education sector would cost Rs 340 million while 4,600 scholarships in elementary and secondary education sector Rs 230 million respectively.
About 50 percent scholarships would be given on merit base and 50 percent on need base, he added.
