Schools closed for summer break from July 1 to 11 - Newspaper

PESHAWAR: The government on Tuesday announced summer vacations from July 1 to 11, closing classes from nursery to 8th in the public sector schools. The decision, however, will not be applied on the private schools and cadet colleges, according to a notification issued by the elementary and secondary education department here. “Cadet colleges and private schools in the province have been allowed to determine the closure of schools or otherwise in lieu of summer vacations on their own,” the notification added. The high and higher secondary classes and preparations for the board examinations will continue as per schedule. The education department issued two different notifications on Tuesday about the closures of schools for summer vacations.

A ceremony in this regard was held in Islamabad on Thursday. KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar attended the meeting through the video link, said an official handout. Minister for Elementary & Secondary Education Shahram Tarakai, Advisor to CM on Higher Education Kamran Bangash, Secretary for Higher education Daud Khan, Secretary Elementary & Secondary Education Yahya Akhunzada attended the ceremony as well.
