India- CARICOM engagement witnessed a boost with the meeting of PM Narendra Modi with 14 leaders of the CARICOM group of countries on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly on 25 September 2019 in New York.
During this First India-CARICOM Summit Level meeting, Modi announced major Development assistance programs for CARICOM nations. These included: $ 14 million Grant for Community Development Projects (CDP) in the CARICOM (1 million for each country).
