There they were to be transported to prisoner camps in germany. As a tribute to all those people who lost their lives, a small group decided to walk the same group as the notorious death march. We went along to meet them. In the beginning there were 14 in the group. Setting out to retrace walked by 40,000 emaciated and exhausted prisoners 69 years ago. They hoped to commemorate the many victims who died on the death march and experience some small fraction of their ordeal.
