So were still trying to get information about the exact number of units displaced so people here are just in shock of what happened this morning. Take a listen. I went outside i was like oh, my god i was screaming. I went inside. I think i woke up all of the neighbors. Reporter now, their friends actually live in this building where this fire happened, they say, one of their friends has been left with nothing this morning. So, a loft shock and a lot of people wondering how theyll pick up the pieces today. Now here on scene we do know there were some injuries, these residents told us they saw man jump from the second floor window, to safety. No update this morning on how that person is doing. (Renee Schiavone/Patch) WASHINGTON, DC Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department arrested 42-year-old Rasheed Young of Southeast Wednesday in connection with two homicides, one in 1996 and the other in 2018, according to a police release. In the first case, officers from the Fifth District responded around 8:56 p.m., on June 11, 1996 to the 300 block of Franklin Street, Northeast for the sound of gunshots. They found 26-year-old Cedric Rogers of Northeast suffering from gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS transported Rogers to a nearby hospital but all lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead. ....
