Im annemarie green. We are going to begin with Hurricane Sally. People in its path have been urged to evacuate as the storm comes in. Sally is a category 2 storm with winds of 100 miles per hour. Its eye is expected to come ashore tonight. Storm surge expected particularly in southeast louisiana, mississippi and alabama. Nancy chen is in gulfport, mississippi. How are residents preparing for this storm . Reporter good morning to you. Mandatory evacuations are in place for many lowlying areas. The winds here are already starting to pick up as the outer bands of sally are beginning to impact the gulf coast. Life threatening storm surge when sally makes landfall. Reportees biloxi, mississippi boarded their homes and businesses. Others got sand bags. The storm is moving slowly over the gulf of mexico, gaining strength from the warm water.
