GOP warns Biden nominees on hold until after impeachment

Top Senate Republicans said Wednesday that there are unlikely to be additional votes on Biden Cabinet picks until after the impeachment trial.
Republicans are pointing to the schedule as the reason for the holdup, arguing that Democrats chose to take up the budget resolution, which will eat up the Senate’s schedule until at least Friday.
The Senate is then poised to start former President Trump

“We re not intentionally trying to slow it down but the Democrats have chosen the agenda, and they ve chosen to do the budget resolution, so if there s a delay in nominations, it s because of their choice,” said Sen. John Cornyn ....

Pelosi issues statement blasting 'cowardly' GOP leader 'McCarthy (Q-CA)'


The toughly worded statement used critical remarks from Republicans such as Senate Minority Whip John Thune
Democrats have set up a House vote Thursday to remove Greene from her committee assignments because of a series of controversial past statements by the first-term lawmaker, who has questioned whether school shootings were faked and supported calls for violence against Pelosi and other Democratic officials.

“After several conversations and literally running away from reporters, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Q-CA) made clear that he is refusing to take action against conspiracy theorist Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene,” the release stated.
