Fresh Snowfall was recorded in Gurez Valley. Sadhna Pass, Phirkiyan Gali, and Machil Kupwara. Roads in those areas have been closed for traffic movement after fresh snowfall. These areas have recorded 6 to 12 inches of snow.
There may be light to moderate rain and thundershower over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand and isolated over Ladakh until April 5th. Upper reaches of these states of may witness light snowfall during this period.
With this, the deficiency which has been on the lower side will improve in the coming days. These Western Disturbances have an impact on the temperature profiles as well, which means that temperatures will remain lower than normal.
A fresh Western disturbance may approach Western Himalayas by March 4th, but it will be feeble. We do not foresee any significant Western disturbance approaching Hills for at least next 15 days.
Isolated to scattered rain and snow is possible over Hills between February 20 and 20nd. Another Western Disturbance will reach Jammu and Kashmir around February 26 and rain and snow activities are possible between February 26 and March 1 over Western Himalayas.
