We are hearing a lot about china these days in east asia. That is what interested me. When i think of alaska and the early 20th century, i am thinking of hawaii, along, the philippines, the panama canal San Francisco. And of course the British Empire in British Columbia and the british have other territories. And of course japan is a rising power. I am interested in how that plays out. The different empires and the relationship between them and i a working on a book right now that focuses on the american empire and the British Empire in the far pacific northwest. I will be in the yukon some researching that. My interest is on is in my interest is in how broad things play out in particular places. Not so much how big themes play out.
