India on Monday cleared controversy over the ban on exports of Covid-19 vaccines and affirmed that the country’s highest leadership is committed to deliver vaccines to Bangladesh as assured.
The PM has said that India will make vaccines for all humanity and that is a commitment at the highest level, highly placed sources told ET. “As to Bangladesh our leaders have committed to supplying vaccines,” the sources added.
The comments were made and reassurance was delivered after Adar Poonwala, CEO of Serum Institute of India (SII) had referred to the ban on exports of vaccines. Bangladesh’s Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd (BPL) will invest with SII in an effort to bring out an approved vaccine for Covid-19. BPL will be the exclusive distributor of the SII for Covid-19 vaccine in Bangladesh. R
