Jane joined the investigation just three years ago, after the airing of the 2019 Lifetime docuseries Surviving R. Kelly. In her June verdict, Jane testified that it was her on the videotapes and that Kelly had sexually abused her multiple times as a minor.
A six-week trial revealed how R Kelly had used workers and intermediaries to entice fans and aspiring singers into sexually abusive and controlling conditions, including locking them in rooms without food or access to a bathroom for days.
R Kelly has been jailed without bail since in 2019. He still faces child pornography and obstruction-of-justice charges in Chicago, where a trial is scheduled to begin Aug 15.
