The quake hit the region around 6:30 p.m. with an epicenter in Ashland, a community near San Leandro. The temblor was initially rated a 4.2 and was downgraded. Michael Leonor, lead server at Angry Fish, was in the middle of dinner service when the tables and plates began rumbling. “We were alarmed,” Leonor said when reached by phone shortly after.
