Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced a Commonwealth contribution of $1.5 million to fund future upgrades at LGBTQI Museum Qtopia Sydney.The announcement was made at today’s opening dedication ceremony for the long-awaited LGBTQI museum.
Sydney’s long-awaited LGBTQI museum, Qtopia Sydney is set to officially open its doors to the public on Saturday, February 24.Located at and around the Darlinghurst Police Station (301 Forbes Street), the Qtopia Sydney Campus includes 301 Forbes Street, The Substation, The Bandstand in Green Park, and the Taylor Square Toilet Block.
Performer, Director, Writer, MC and Sydney WorldPride Artistic Director Ben Graetz has been named a curator for the LGBTQI museum, Qtopia Sydney, which opens on February 23.For over 20 years, Graetz has worked in the performing arts sector. Originally from Darwin, Graetz is a descendant of the Iwaidja and Malak Malak Clans in the Northern Territory and of the Badu Island on the Torres Strait Islands.
